Land Acknowledgement
We, at Mother Eberly, acknowledge that the land on which our brand + story are based has a long and rich history, far predating the arrival of our European Mennonite ancestors in the early 1700s. This land is within the territory of the Susquehanna River basin, traditionally stewarded by Indigenous peoples, including the Susquehannock, Lenape, Mohawk, Nanticoke, Seneca, and Shawnee tribes, along with many others whose names and stories may not be widely known.
We recognize and honor the enduring connection of these Indigenous peoples to this land, their ancestral stewardship, and the countless generations who have cared for this place for thousands of years. In particular, we reflect with respect upon the generosity of local Indigenous tribes, whose kind support and was vital to the survival and prosperity of the Eberly family in the Durlach, PA area.
As we acknowledge the past, we also commit to fostering an ongoing relationship of respect, understanding, and responsibility to the land and its original stewards. We recognize that this is a shared space, shaped by many hands and hearts, and it is with deep gratitude that we honor the history, culture, and contributions of the Indigenous peoples of this land.
